How was your Thanksgiving? Mine was awesome. AWESOME. I was all snuggled up in the woods in New Hampshire with Rosie and Kate and Brendan and we ate amazing food and drank amazing wine and Rosie made us Ginger Manhattans with love and I acted like the court jester as I am wont to do and I gave Kate my sweater and she gave me a pillow and Brendan and I drank from little airport bottles of whiskey in public and we listened to music and danced and worked and nerded out and sat by the fire which is one of my favorite things to do on this planet, like I don’t even care if it’s super obvious or I sound like a personal ad, but just sitting by a fucking fire is pretty all right by me. Also we drove to Maine and had oysters with Ron Currie and his lady Lisa and it was really nice to see them because they are nice, sincere, smart, funny people. My friends are great, you guys. I give thanks for them. I GIVE THANKS.

In other news I am super close to being done with the final final final edits of THE MIDDLESTEINS. We’re just at the nitpicky stuff now, and it is not crushing my soul in the slightest, it just feels like necessary work. I saw galley copy today, but have not seen cover art yet. All my blurbs are awesome and I love them (and the authors who contributed them!) and once I have a cover I will update my other site and all will be revealed. I am so excited for everyone to read this book I can’t stand it! But we are still ten months away. Obviously if you are a blogger or reviewer or any sort of media-type of person (or if you are my mother) we can get you a galley.

In other other news I am subletting this apartment come January 2012 and hitting the road for a while. There are a bunch of possibilities in the mix but I am definitely planning on heading south for the winter with all the little birdies in the sky. More on this later. As always, I am patiently waiting for the rest of my life to catch up with me.
