I have to write a pitch today so I’m kind of on lockdown but wanted to mention this new piece I did for The New York Times on stalking my local free bookcase. I love how it turned out! I love the illustration by James Gulliver Hancock (who has a great bio), and I love that the editor kept my favorite line in the piece (I bet you can guess which one), and I love that I got to write about what all I do all day, which is basically sit around in a cafe and think about books. Please read and enjoy it!
Also I interviewed the very witty and open Elissa Schappell for emusic. Also I am very proud of my friend Pat. Also I am proud of some other friends of mine but I am not allowed to mention it yet but SOMEDAY.
If this is your first time visiting this site, here are some fun things to read here and elsewhere:
The Complete Story of How My Bike Got Stolen, How I Found it on Craigslist, and How I Got it Back
No Baby Next Door, Please
An Apartment Affair
That One Time I Needed Planned Parenthood
All the Single Ladies

Just finished your piece in todays times. What happens next? Did anyone pick up your books?
They are still there! Go get one!
I love Dingo skulking on his rounds behind the lilacs… and I am also very happy for a certain friend of ours! and I’m still trying to guess your favorite line out of all the potential favorite lines but I have a front-runner.
