I have two days left of work. Yes, I quit my job. Everyone was really nice there! It just wasn’t the right fit for me. Someday, someday. But for now I guess I’ll just write another book.
I’m going to New Hampshire for a week later this month, and I might possibly bounce around New England for a week after that. I also would really like to go see my sweetheart Mahoney in Memphis sometime soon. But before that I have to finish my edits which are thisclose to done, and I also have a couple of events, including Leigh Ann’s wedding this weekend. Man, I remember when we were getting too drunk for our own good at the Mercury Lounge. Man! Weddings, am I right? (I am right.)
Also an actress will be reading a scene from the beginning of The Middlesteins as part of the Sweet! Actors Reading Writers series this Thursday, May 5th, at the Three of Cups in East Village. It starts at 7:30 PM. Other authors included in the event are Chelsey M. Hicks, Eric Rosenblum, Jeffrey Rotter, and Natalie Eilbert. The name of the actress reading my piece is Devon Caraway, which is a pretty amazing and romantic name if you ask me, definitely more so than Jami Attenberg, which, duh, JEW.
Also Wendy will be here very, very soon, touring for her book The Wilder Life. I am throwing a party for her, and also she is reading at WORD on May 17 and you should go if you like any of the following:
Little House on the Prairie
butter churning
weird small town beauty pageants
nice Midwestern people
a well-constructed sentence
funny stories
books
life

Good luck with everything! As I myself am looking for a job after leaving my previous one, I cannot agree with you more. Although there is a little anxiety that comes from time to time, I like the times that I can spend for myself, such as reading!
