Got the edits on my last version back from my editor and I am thisclose to done, at least until it goes through copyedits. Still it’s a pretty long list of things to do. It’s always amazing when someone else makes your to-do list for you. I guess it depends on who is making the list, but I find it pretty relaxing to not have to be in charge for a minute. I’ve spent years having to create my own forward motion. A lot of it is natural but there’s always some struggle, too.
I had dinner with my family last night and I told my sister-in-law, “I’m just being a normal person with a day job right now.” So my editor is not the only one making my to-do lists right now.
All of it makes me feel like the on-off switch is off.

I wrote an essay about the baby who lives next door to me, and you can read it right here.
Also I am reading tonight! Bar Matchless, 8 PM. (I bet I’ll go on around 9.) I’m going to read a chapter from The Middlesteins. See you there? Maybe? Maybe! Maybe.
