I have been listening to Led Zeppelin IV all day, except for when I went to go buy a new notebook for this new project I’m starting tomorrow, and also when I had a coffee at the cafe and read this book I’m reviewing in a few weeks, and also when I was walking across the bridge, no Led Zeppelin IV then, and definitely not in yoga class, where we listened to some hippie shit plus the sounds of intense deep breathing around us.
But otherwise I GOT THE LED OUT and it felt FUCKING GREAT.
I have a paperback release party this week. Awesome people are reading, like:
Emily Flake (read an interview with her at The New Yorker!)
Rosie Schaap (listen to her on This American Life!)
Lisa Hanawalt (read an interview with her at Vice!)
Emma Straub (read an interview with her on a fancy publishing blog and follow her on twitter!)
Sarah Glidden (read an interview with her at Time!)
Jason Diamond (look at his tumblr and also this other site he edits, Jewcy!)
Renata Espinosa (she’s got a tumblr too, and this is my favorite post!)
Maris Kreizman (with apologies to everyone else’s tumblr, she’s got the best one of all!)
and Ron Currie, Jr. (look at this fancy review of his completely amazing book!), who is coming to us all the way from Maine, god bless his heart.
Jauntsetter’s sponsoring it. (I ran into Dorothy who runs Jauntsetter the other night when I was coming home from getting drunk with my editor. I had fallen into the snow twice, and I was giggling to myself, and then I ran into her and I talked a lot for a while and she let me. This is what happens when I am released from captivity into the wilds of Williamsburg on a Friday night. I never say anything dumb ever. But the point is she’s really nice and pretty and also I am an idiot.)
Anyway! The party is on Thursday. 7:30 PM. Pretty sure you should get there early-ish if you want a seat because it fills up quickly. I’ve got a couple of reviews I have to get done this week, so this will probably be my last update. So please come! And if you can’t come, you are still totally welcome to buy a copy of The Melting Season from WORD, and it will come to you signed by me. It’s magic!
