It’s so exciting to have a nice camera again!
All week I’ve been trying to brainstorm my next project and this morning I looked back through my notes.
(By the way, this never works for me, when I try to figure out what to write about, because the ideas usually creep up on me either early in the morning when I am just waking up or when someone tells me a story that triggers something in my brain. But it’s still a good way to shake up my brain and get it ready for when that moment of inspiration might actually happen.)
Anyway, I have written approximately twenty times, both separately and together, the following phrases:
What do you know?
What do you care about?
What do you have to say to the world?
You think that’s funny, you should see the answers. The answers are hilarious.

Tommorow, after I work at WORD from 12-4, I’m going to go to the Brooklyn Comics and Graphics Festival. I’m really sorry I’ll be missing Lynda Barry and Charles Burns in conversation, so you’ll have to go in my place and tell me how it was. (Surely it will be more interesting than the recent Steve Martin and Deborah Solomon discussion at the 92nd Street Y.)
I can’t remember why I missed this event last year, but I feel like it’s such a good thing for the neighborhood, at the very least in terms of enhancing and expanding the cultural dialogue. Plus, you know, it’s going to be a roomful of nerds. Who doesn’t like nerds?
