Seriously, this movie inspired by his book It’s Kind of a Funny Story looks amazing. I am so thrilled for him. Is there any way this movie isn’t going to be awesome?
So that is good. That made me really happy to see that. There is a deep immeasurable pleasure that comes from witnessing the success of your peers. (Also it is extremely motivational.) But Ned has been a shooting star forever anyway, so there’s no surprises there.
There’s not much else to report. My mother is in town and I will be quizzing her about all things Jewish for the book. She made me change “liverwurst” to “chopped liver” but I might change it back because obviously “liverwurst” is way funnier.
And I redid my list of chapters yesterday to include the new structure and it mucked everything up, though I think everything needed to be mucked up and then repaired in order to make it bigger, better, stronger. But it was smooth before, I could see a smooth path ahead of me to the end of the book, and now it is bumpy, which makes me feel a little nervous.
I don’t mind the nerves so much, though. I have always taken some comfort in living in discomfort. I wear jittery well.
