Sunnyside is blooming
I’m doing a lot of yoga right now. And hanging out with the niece, who turns five tomorrow. And reading Josh Mohr’s seriously awesome book Some Things That Meant The World To Me. And writing about suburban hip hop bar mitzvah instructors. Just kind of pounding away at everything. I’m on a time limit here; the money will run out eventually. I would prefer to have something to sell before that happens.
I talk a lot during readings and interviews about the intersection of fear (of staying in a place you do not enjoy in your life for eternity and never moving forward; or, perhaps just of simply going broke) and hunger (for progress, for success, to make your mark on the world no matter how small that mark) being crucial to the creative process. I feel comfortable saying I am at that intersection at this exact moment.
