I have no idea where this week went, I only know that I am going home tonight and I am totally going to roll around naked for the next few days because I CAN.
Coming up in May I have three readings I’m participating in, and I might go to a couple of readings, but basically I’m going to stay home, stay clean, eat right, sun myself on my roof, read, go to yoga, and, most importantly, write my book. I’m going to be super boring and I’m going to love every minute of it. I pretty much just care about feeling good and getting into this book and making it great.
Goals are important, people.
Anyway, my three events:
I’m doing this reading with Anna David and someone else at the Gershwin Hotel on Tuesday, May 11. Apparently you can get a manicure and acupuncture at the same time. (Swear to god.) I think this actually will be awesome and I recommend it.
On Tuesday, May 18 I’m reading at the Strand on behalf of Jewcy with Rachel Shukert and Sam Apple. We are all Jewish, that is what connects us. Dark-haired Jewy Jews. But I doubt we will be reading about being Jewish.
And finally on Sunday, May 23, I’m hosting (and I think this just means introducing but I will try to come up with some witty banter as well) an indie press night at Word Bookstore, because I love Word Bookstore and Gina Frangello and Emma Straub and Shya Scanlon, and Zoe Zoelbrod is reading as well and I don’t know her but I bet I would love her too.
Also I am having a small party one night – so small, in fact, that I don’t even know if you could call it a party, maybe gathering is more appropriate – that you are probably not invited to because I’m in no mood for all these people in my house and then somebody breaks something or spills or whatever and then I have to clean the next day and forget it, it’s not worth it, let’s just keep it small.
But that’s it. Nothing else. A lovely spring in Brooklyn.
