So I got trapped in Laramie for a day because of the snowstorm, and then I yammered on about it over on YouTube, and you can watch that here.
Then I woke up today and was so fucking happy I could drive that I did, very successfully, for eight hours, and ended up in Wendover, NV, where I now sit, safely in a hotel room, perhaps with a few mini bottles of Jack Daniels, perhaps not. I’ll let you guess!
I did get to make a lovely stop at the salt flats outside of Salt Lake City. The whole drive through Utah was as astonishing as ever. There is some pretty serious energy in that land. I wonder if it has healing powers.
Tomorrow I’m off to Reno to see my friend Jeremy Stern, and then Monday and Tuesday I am reading in San Francisco. Monday I’ll be at the Makeout Room, reading at a Rumpus event with loads of people, and Tuesday I’ll be at Modern Times reading with Joshua Mohr. If you live there, please come. If you know someone who lives there, please tell them to come. I think both nights are going to be great, or, at the very least, not dull. I’m not doing dull these days.
