I took a day off today. There was a small migraine situation and I needed to just sit and be calm. It has been a busy week. My book party at Word was the best reading event I’ve ever had. My friend Melissa Collom sang opera, accompanied by Loren Dempster on cello and Franz Nicolay on accordion. It was AMAZING. There were lots of people there and I could not stop grinning and all my cookies were gone in an instant. Thank you Brooklyn, for representing.
In other news, I love love love this Chicago Tribune piece on me and The Melting Season. Love it. Julia Keller quoted one of my absolute favorite paragraphs in the book, and said such sweet things about my writing. Between this and the Time Out Chicago piece, Chicago really got it and brought it, and I am grateful.
Read “Life on the lam in ‘The Melting Season.’”
See you next week, Chicago!
