I stayed out way too late on Friday, but mostly it was a nice mellow weekend. I spent a lot of time watching the marathon yesterday. I was up early and got to see the very beginning of the race, those bad-ass wheelchair competitors cranking by on Bedford Avenue. It was an inspirational sight. And my birthday dinner last night was DEEEEVINE. I want my brother to cook for me every day. He’s ridiculously good at it. Things were braised. Yum.
I’m behind schedule on starting revisions on book 4 because I decided not to work this weekend and now I have to do all this other stuff today and tomorrow. But it was nice to rest my brain and I feel kind of refreshed and happy and ready to be productive.
I have an essay going up this week (I think) on Double X. Also some trade mags are doing reviews soonish, which I will try to ignore unless someone tells me I absolutely have to pay attention. Mostly I am focusing on what I can control in the immediate space around me right now.
