I wrote about Tracy Morgan’s Fresh Air interview for Salon’s Broadsheet: “Tracy Morgan cries for his mom — and we cry, too”.
Read it right here!

I went to see Julie Klam and Amy Sohn read last night at Pete’s Candy Store, and they were both very funny and gave solid, charming readings. A lot of readings suck, frankly. I almost never ask people to go to readings with me because I would hate it if they were bored, and even when authors bring their best game, they still can be pretty dull. But these two know how to entertain.
Sohn was witty and degraded people who live in Park Slope which was awesome. And she read in an Australian accent for one character. Also Klam lapsed into the voices of various old Jews. This was very good.
ACCENTS ARE HILARIOUS AND RECOMMENDED.
Klam, a former David Letterman intern, also read a short, hilarious, completely fictional piece about working for Letterman, that was just for all of us special guests who showed up. And now we all have our own little inside joke and you don’t.

In case you were wondering, I bought the ticket to Rome, and I leave in a few weeks. I’m really really really really really excited.

This weekend: the Obits are playing a free show on Saturday at the Knit, and later I’m going to the launch party for Greenlight Bookstore. Congrats Rebecca and Jessica!
Also I’m going to work a ton.
Have a nice weekend!
