The last of the great days.

Sunny Sunday in Tompkins Square Park

The past few days: The Hold Steady show at Warsaw, they seem happier now and the show was fun, though I miss the anger and bitterness a little bit and I blame it all on Franz because I would imagine it's hard to be angry around that guy; turkey turkey turkey; dinner with the girls at Cedar Tavern on the second-to-last night before it closes forever, I ordered a veggie burger and shockingly it was a mushy mess and I remembered why I never liked going there even though I liked the company; Me and You and Everyone We Know at Jonny's house, and I thought the other shoesalesman was a little underdeveloped but otherwise I liked it, how light and airy it felt, how it told you exactly what point it was going to make and yet you were still sort of surprised at it, and also Miranda July's shirts were spectacular; cramps cramps cramps; and then a bike ride into the city, coffee with myself, reading, writing, thinking, picture-taking, cheese-buying at East Village Cheese (no samples, half pound minimum), green tea and cherry crumb pie with Ned Vizzini at Veselka, a walk to the Lower East Side, gossip, a bike ride back across the bridge, and the sun was glowing the whole time and I was greedy with it because I know soon it'll be gone for a while, not forever, but long enough.
