Unabashed tearjearker.

Some fuck-ups from the other day. But I have a severe fondness for fuck-ups

There's too much going on socially right now. Is it the season? Is it that back-to-school vibe? My calendar is jammed up. One night off is not enough. I need a week of it.

I saw Hallelujah The Hills play on Friday. This is not meant as an insult at all, because I have loved them since the beginning, but I swear they get better every time I see them. They had some new arrangements for a few of their old songs that totally worked, and they've got two new bandmates as well, so that gave them some fresh energy. (They're about to head out on a big tour in support of their amazing new CD, "Colonial Drones." I highly suggest you check them out.)

Afterward they all slept on my floor. They are probably the last band allowed to sleep on my floor. My band-crashing days are largely in my past. But they always clean up after themselves and occasionally fix things and are nice young men.

Still that's a lot of psychic energy in one place. I stayed in on Saturday and finished two residency applications. I am trying really hard to monetize my life over here. I think I'm going to have to go back to an ad agency no matter what, but I will try and fight that off for as long as I can.

Yesterday I had a brilliant little brunch here. I only broke one champagne glass. Also I laughed for about twenty minutes straight. At something I said. I'm pretty stoked there's some leftover frittata in the fridge.
