We go bird-watching on the weekends.

I have a new short story up on Nerve called One Plus One. Wait! Before you click, moms, dads, other relatives, people who have day jobs, I will warn you it is extra dirty. For serious. A friend of mine read it yesterday and said, "I feel funny reading this at work," and she is not prissy in the slightest. On the other hand, perhaps you enjoy feeling funny at work. If so, click away!

Not much else is going on here. Working a bunch, yet not getting a thing done. I'm going to do some major cafe time today and try to figure out what the hell is happening in this chapter I'm writing. Sometimes working without an outline is so crazy. You sit down and think, anything can happen today! But there are repercussions down the line for plot points you know you need to get to eventually. It's always a risk, making it up as you go along.

Please note I will be at the Omaha Lit Festival again this year, and I will be speaking on two panels:

The Devil in Miss Jones: The Panel about Women Writing on the Edge. What possesses women writers to write with such vitriol, to spew such spit and vinegar, to be so utterly...unladylike?

and

Sex in the Library: The Panel about Canoodling on the Page. Writers talk candidly about fiction and nonfiction inspired by acts of love and lust.

Hope to see you there!
