He only wanted two things in life.

Drinking in the woods
Even in that rainstorm, the Love Is a Four-Letter Word launch was a blast. Wendy was so funny! Afterwards I had to play cruise director, and somehow I managed to find seating for 16 people for dinner. I mean, it was Lombardi's, but still. I seriously kicked ass at New York City that night.
I also stopped by David Updike's reading at McNally-Jackson for a hot minute to say hello. I blurbed his book Old Girlfriends (which is getting some very nice reviews) but hadn't met him before, and he seemed like a sweet man.
I've got one day left before I start writing my ass off for the next two months, and I could do anything at all in New York City, but all I want to do is sit in my apartment in the air conditioning and read. Dog days, indeed.

I'm reading on Monday at Half King with all these awesome people, like Emily Flake, Michelle Green, and D.E. Rasso. The fun starts at 7 PM. You should totally come.
