The Ninth Wonder of the World.

Other people's children are so cute

We tracked down a cheese stand today, on a little out of the way (everything is out of the way in Vermont, mind you) farm. It's always open, because no one mans it, you just drop some money into a slot and take a big hunk of cheese from the refrigerator. The cheese was pretty good, I have to say, but of course it was all about the adventure of finding the place.

This is what I've been doing in Vermont. That and working my way through a huge mass of edits. I haven't nearly started to fuck it all up yet - you've got to make it messy before you can make it better, this is a known fact - which can only mean I've got a long way to go. But I'm making progress. It's getting better, this book. It's not significantly better yet, but it's getting there.

Tomorrow I'm heading back to New York for a few weeks. I am actually anxious for a little rock and roll fun. I'm not sure what that means exactly at this point, but I'll know it when I see it.
