Oh my gosh, what a week. I realize I haven't written in forfuckingever, but so much has been going on, I don't even know where to start. There's job stuff, and there's personal stuff, and I think, for the most part, everything is going pretty well. At the very least, all of it makes my life interesting to me, and that's all a girl can ask for.

Starting from the top down: This and this and this happened, and although I work for a tiny, unimportant, essentially R&D department, we are all abuzz, because things do trickle down eventually in their own way.

Also my boss called me and told me my pet project was cancelled. No one knows why, it just was. Kind of a bummer, but I had a feeling it was coming for a while. So now I don't know what I'll be doing come winter time. I proposed the idea that I take a (long overdue) month off. We'll see what happens. I was thinking about sleeping in a hut on a beach in Thailand for the month of December. (It sounds like fun to me, anyway.)

And finally, we had an amazing shoot yesterday, the best ever in terms of ease and results, and I couldn't be happier. I haven't had a work day that easy in a long time. They'll be airing online in the fall, including one right before the season premiere. It all made me very, very happy. The high off of these medium-sized triumphs can sometimes last for weeks.

On the personal front, I've broken up with the guy I've been hanging out with for the past few months. I've been dating other people for a while now since his emotional vacancy first made itself known, but still it made me a bit sad. For about a day. And then my hippie friend Kelly arrived from Seattle for a few days, and also I hung out with another new friend a couple of times these week, and I've been so distracted with my social life and with work that I haven't really stopped to consider how I'm feeling until this exact moment. So in case you were wondering, I'm feeling just fine.

Kelly left yesterday (she's attending String Cheese Incident shows around the east coast), but she'll be back on Saturday, with other hippies. My apartment has been pretty small, and continues to be that way, since there's extra clothes and an air mattress floating around now. It's all worth it though, because I love hippies! We're going to Central Park on Sunday, and I think some hippie show at Tobacco Road during the day on Saturday, and somewhere in the middle I will sleep like a fucking rock.
