Snaps for silence.

I went to my first book club last night. It was kind of awesome. All the women were really nice, and they all seemed to like the book a lot and everyone was thoughtful and smart.

Also there was wine.

One of the most interesting moments for me was when a young woman told me that her grandmother's book club - comprised mainly of women her grandmother's age - had discussed the book. And they had mourned the time Jarvis had lost waiting for her husband to die. Later in life you realize that every moment is worth living. I guess I understand that a little bit, but maybe not as much as I need to. So that kind of hit me. I'm going to chew on that a bit as I finish up this new novel.

The novel is in the midst of a major overhaul and it is kind of a mess but I am not scared at all. I am not afraid of moving forward. But boy are there a lot of things that need to get fixed.

Not much else going on except for work. Jonny bought shelves yesterday and spent hours putting together the IKEA wardrobe and I will confess it is not perfect but it is close enough. IKEA can kind of suck it though.
