God talk makes me uncomfortable.

The flight was overbooked

With no offense to any of the other wonderful readers who have participated in the series, last night was, I think, the most perfect Boxcar reading ever. It was crowded but not so you couldn't hear (which has been a problem in the past), every single author was a good reader (in addition to being a good writer), and I didn't sound like a complete doofus in my (sometimes not very) witty off the cuff stuff. Extremely satisfying. There was a real sense in the room that as we watched Annie Choi, Felicia Sullivan, Josh Ferris, and Min Jin Lee, we were witnessing writers who are going to make a difference.

And then I went home - yes, home! - and crashed into my bed. My cat woke me up at 9 AM, paw on face. You have to unpack, sister, he said. And send out some pitches so you can pay the bills.

I'm on it, chief.

I wrote two profiles for Print's "Top 20 Designers Under 30" issue: Kevin Smith and R. Kikuo Johnson. I believe the issue is on the stands now.

And a super long time ago (Like maybe last August? Definitely before I went to Nebraska.) Carolyn of Pinky's Paperhaus interviewed me, and has now posted it for your listening pleasure right here. I haven't listened to it yet, but I wonder if I think differently about things six months later. If I didn't hate the sound of my own voice recorded so much I would totally listen to it. Someone tell me if I sound like a jackass or not, ok?
